A union auxiliary group, the Ladies of 798, dedicated a memorial Friday to honor pipeline builders killed in the line of work or traveling to or from job sites.

The group unveiled the monument during a ceremony at Pipeliners Local Union 798, at 4823 S. 83rd East Ave. The monument behind the union hall lists 90 members who lost their lives.

"We all know someone on this wall that we loved and that have been in our homes," said Norma Kay Hendrix, president of the Ladies of 798.

She was speaking to a group of about 300 who had gathered for the unveiling.

The ceremony was held on the first anniversary of Ladies of 798.

Hendrix and other spouses of pipeliners who formed the auxiliary a year ago embarked on a campaign to build the memorial, raising about $45,000 in donations.

Here is the list of Members names that we have as of March 05, 2008. Please look at the list and let us know if you know of anyone who should be listed that is not. It is not our intention to overlook ANYONE, this has made us all think of the Brothers and Sisters that we have lost and that has been painful for all of us, but please help us to honor those who have GAVE ALL...and have them remembered forever on the Memorial Wall. We want to thank everyone who has helped us gather the current list of members for the MEMORIAL WALL.
